Why is there a blockage of Concrete Delivery Pump ?

1. Something wrong with material. It mainly includes 3 aspects such as  the segregation of concrete, the particle size of the aggregate is too large, and the remaining amount is not properly controlled.

• In the mixed concrete, the coarse and fine aggregates are not covered with cement slurry, and the cementation effect is insufficient, so the aggregates are more discrete, which may easily cause bleeding. Because no effective lubricating film is formed, the friction between the aggregate and the duct, and the aggregate and the aggregate increases.
• The coarse aggregate configuration is unreasonable. Among them, the larger the particle size, the worse the overall fluidity of the concrete.
• Insufficient control of the remaining material is lower than the stirring shaft, which leads to inhaled air and tube blocking.

2. Something wrong with concrete delivery pump. It mainly includes 2 aspects such as leakage of the delivery pipe and incomplete cleaning of the pipes.

• If the leakage of the pipeline is poor, the leakage of the slurry will cause the poor flowability of the concrete due to the leakage of the cement slurry, and the friction will cause a blockage of the pipe.
• After the previous pumping was completed, the delivery pipe was not cleaned in accordance with regulations, resulting in an unobstructed pipe, which affected pumping.
• Both of these problems are particularly serious at the elbow.

3. Management problems of concrete delivery pump. It mainly include 3 aspects such as too fast, too long intermittent time, insufficient consideration of temperature effects.

• The pump was not properly slowed down during the first pumping, which caused excessive friction inside the catheter and blocked the pipe.
• The intermittent time is too long, which causes the concrete to reach the initial setting state in the duct, which hinders subsequent pumping and leads to blocked pipes
• Insufficient consideration of temperature effects, unreasonable protection of the conduit, resulting in excessive evaporation of water or freezing, leading to blockage.

How to prevent blockage of concrete delivery pump?

1. Carefully selected materials
The amount of cement slurry should be sufficient; the particle size of the aggregate should be strictly screened. The maximum particle size of pebble should be less than 1/3 of the diameter of the delivery pipe, the maximum particle size of crushed stone should be less than 1/4 of the diameter of the delivery pipe, and the sand content should be greater than 40% The amount should be sufficient and kept above the stirring shaft. Pay attention to check the slump of the concrete. Those who are unqualified must use it after second mixing. Generally, it is 8-18cm, and it is generally 15cm when the distance is long and the height is large.

2. Strictly controlled of concrete delivery pump

When pumping, set up a special person to inspect the leak tightness of the catheter, and immediately find and repair the leak. When the pumping is finished, you must clean the catheter and set up a special person to inspect and supervise. Before each pumping, check whether the delivery pipe is unobstructed. Try to avoid blockage at the elbow.

3. Strict management

Pump down slowly for the first time, and speed up properly after normal pumping. Generally, the pump is turned on every 5 minutes to prevent pipe blocking during intermittent periods. Concrete that has reached the initial setting state cannot be pumped. Cover the straw bag outside the duct to control the temperature and water in summer Cool down and cover insulation in winter.

1.Technical parameters of stationary pump

Stationary Pump had the following main technical parameters such as conveying displacement, export pressure, motor power and distribution valve form. According to the new national standards, these main parameters from the concrete pump model can be learned.

2. Power of electric motor（diesel engine is the same）

The motor power of concrete pump trailer is the precondition to determine the outlet pressure and the amount of conveyor. Under the condition of a certain motor power, the increase of the pressure will reduce the amount of conveyor. On the contrary, reducing the outlet pressure will increase the throughput. In order to ensure that the concrete conveying pump not only has a large amount of conveying, but also has a certain outlet pressure and economic power to match, in the design of concrete conveying pump, the constant power plunger pump is mostly used. That is, after the constant power value is selected, when the outlet pressure rises, the output displacement of the oil pump will automatically decrease to the value corresponding to the power design. If both of them want to achieve high export pressure, and want to get the purpose of large throughput. The only way is to increase the motor power. Therefore, in the new national standard, the concept of capacity index of concrete conveying pump is introduced (taking MPa·m3/h as the measurement unit). the product of the actual outlet pressure of concrete conveying pump and the actual throughput per hour are identified. The larger the value is, the larger the capacity index will be, and the larger the motor power will be. Thus, the purpose of large displacement and high lift can be realized.

Use skills of stationary pump

1. Operators and relevant equipment management personnel shall carefully read the operating instructions and master the relevant knowledge of its structural principle, operation and maintenance as well as pumping concrete operations; The operation of concrete pump should be strictly in accordance with the operating instructions. Since there is required processes for the operator to fully master the mechanical properties, the instruction manual should be prepared at random. At the same time, it should be based on the use of the manual to develop special operating points, to be able to effectively control some variable factors in the pumping technology, such as pump position, pipeline layout.
2. The ground supporting the Stationary Pump should be flat and solid; The whole machine should be placed horizontally and should not be tilted in the working process. The supporting leg should be able to support the whole machine stably and lock or fix reliably. The pump location should not only be convenient for the concrete mixing truck to enter and exit and feed to the hopper, but also be conducive to the pumping distribution pipe and reduce the pumping pressure loss. At the same time, it should be close to the pouring site and convenient for power supply and water supply.
3.  Stationary Pump should be based on the characteristics of the construction site and concrete pouring scheme for piping, piping design to check whether the horizontal conversion distance of the pipeline and concrete pump pumping distance.Piping should be as short as possible, less elbow and hose. Pipeline laying should facilitate pipeline cleaning, troubleshooting and disassembly and maintenance.When the new pipe is mixed with the old one, the new pipe should be arranged at the place with high pumping pressure. In the process of piping, a pipe layout diagram shall be drawn, and the specifications and quantities of various pipe fittings, pipe clips, elbow pipes and hoses shall be listed, and a list shall be provided.
4.  In the process of concrete pumping, with the increment of pump pressure, pumping impact will force pipe moves back and forth, it was not only the pumping pressure loss, and was the connection between pump pipe area was in a state of shock and discontinuous tension, which can lead to the pipe clamp and aprons premature damage, water mud overflow, so the pump must be fixed.
5.  After the connection of the Stationary Pump with the conveying pipe, the concrete pump shall be fully inspected in accordance with the operating instructions of the concrete pump, and the machine shall not be started for empty operation until it meets the requirements.After no-load operation for 10min, check again whether all institutions or systems work normally.
6.  During construction in hot season, it was advisable to cover the concrete conveying pipe with wet straw bag, wet cover cloth and other materials to avoid direct sunlight, so as to prevent the concrete from blocking the pipe due to the rapid loss of collapse.

   When vertical upward piping was required, with the increase of height, namely the increase of potential energy, there is trend of back flow of concrete. Therefore, horizontal pipes of a certain length should be laid between the concrete pump and the vertical piping to ensure sufficient resistance to prevent back flow of concrete. When pumping concrete in high-rise buildings, pipes shall be arranged vertically upward. At this time, the length of horizontal pipes on the ground shall not be less than 1/4 of the length of vertical pipes.If the required length of water pipe cannot be placed due to the limitation of the site, elbow pipe or hose can be used instead.
   7. During the stationary pump in the cold region in winter, appropriate insulation measures shall be taken, and the concrete conveying pipe shall be wrapped with insulation materials to prevent the concrete inside the pipe from freezing.When vertical upward piping was required, with the increase of height, namely the increase of potential energy, there is trend of back flow of concrete. one of our customer from Thailand gave us a call on 10th, October, 2018, he asked some information about the trailer mounted concrete pump details, he had a mobile batch plant, he transports concrete using a mixer truck, so he had to employ some driver and rent trucks, but the cost is so much for his economic situation, that is why he wanted concrete pump machine.

We got enquiry of trailer concrete pump from Indonesia client on March, 2018. How to use the Portable Concrete Trailer Pump

• The Portable Concrete Trailer Pump should be placed on a solid and flat ground, with the supporting legs down and the fuselage placed smoothly.
• It is should be checked before operation to ensure that the electrical equipment and instruments are normal, the switch buttons and handle of all parts are in the correct position, the fastening points of the mechanical part are firm and reliable, the tightness of the chain and belt meets the specified requirements, and the transmission part operates normally.
• The concrete conveying pipe joints shall be tightly sealed and the pipe clips shall be firmly connected. Vertical pipe should be no less than 10 meters in front of the horizontal pipe with a check valve, it was strictly prohibited to connect the vertical pipe directly to the concrete delivery pump outlet.
• When dredging the blocked pipe, people around should be evacuated. Before disassembling and cleaning the pipeline, backpumping method should be adopted to remove the pressure of the conveying pipeline. It is strictly forbidden to pipe mouth to person when disassembling.
• Please don not remove the hopper grid and other safety devices during operation. Did not climb or ride the conveying pipe,  not put your hand into the valve body to work,  not remove the pipe when pumping.
• When cleaning the pipe, the operator should leave the pipe outlet and bend joint.When cleaning the pipe with compressed air, no one and equipment shall be allowed within 10 meters of the pipe outlet.
• After the operation, unload the hydraulic system and return all the control switches to the original position.

Piping design of Portable Concrete Trailer Pump

The concrete delivery pipe of portable concrete trailer pump shall be arranged according to the characteristics of the project and construction site and the concrete pouring scheme. You should shorten the length of the pipeline, less elbow and hose. The laying of delivery pipe should ensure safe construction, facilitate cleaning pipe, troubleshooting and installation and disassembly maintenance.

Concrete delivery pipes of the same diameter shall be used in the same pipeline. When the new and 1-day sections are adopted at the same time, the new pipe should be arranged at a place with higher pumping pressure. The pipeline should be arranged horizontally and vertically. A schematic drawing of pipe layout shall be drawn, the specifications and quantities of various pipe fittings, pipe connecting rings and elbow pipes shall be listed, and a list of spare parts shall be proposed. The concrete delivery pipe should be selected according to the maximum particle size of coarse aggregate, the type of portable concrete trailer pump, the delivery distance of concrete output, and the degree of conveying difficulty. The delivery pipe shall have a strength suitable for pumping conditions. The pipe section without crack, bump and bend should be used. Pipe joints shall be tight, strong enough to be quickly assembled and dismantled. When the minimum pipe diameter of conveying pipe is l00mm, the maximum particle size of coarse aggregate cannot exceed 30mm, and when the minimum pipe diameter is 125mm, the maximum particle size cannot exceed 40mm. When piping vertically upward, the length of horizontal pipe on the ground shall not be less than 1/4 of the length of vertical pipe, and shall not be less than 15m, or comply with the provisions of the product specification. A globe valve shall be set at the root of the conveying pipe at the y-shaped pipe outlet 3 ~ 6m of the concrete pump to prevent the backflow of concrete mixture. When pumping underground structures, the horizontal pipe axis on the ground should be perpendicular to the y-shaped pipe outlet axis.When inclined downward piping, exhaust valve should be set at the upper end of inclined piping;When the height difference is greater than 20m, a horizontal pipe with 5 times the height difference length should be set at the lower end of the inclined pipe.If the condition is limited, the elbow pipe or ring pipe can be added to meet the requirement of 5 times the height difference length.The fixation of concrete conveying pipe shall not be directly supported on steel bars, formwork and embedded parts. Horizontal pipe shall be fixed with bracket, platform pad and sling at a certain distance, so as to eliminate pipe blockage, install, dismantle and clean the pipe. The vertical pipe should be fixed in the hole on the wall and the column or the roof of the floor with embedded parts.In the wall and column, each section of the pipe should not be less than 1 fixed point, in each floor slab holes should be fixed. A bend at the lower end of a vertical pipe should not be used as a support point for an upper pipe.Suitable for steel support to bear the weight of vertical pipe. When the vertical pipe is fixed on the scaffold, the scaffold can be strengthened as required.There shall be no leakage of slurry at the clamp of pipe joint.In hot season construction, it is advisable to cover the concrete conveying pipe with wet cloth and warm straw bag to avoid sunshine. Construction in cold season, it is advisable to use insulation materials to cover the kungfu soil conveying pipe, to prevent the concrete inside the pipe from freezing, and to ensure the temperature of concrete into the mold.When the horizontal conveying distance is more than 200m, the vertical conveying distance is more than 40m, the conveying pipe is vertically downward or the horizontal pipe is arranged in front of the inclined pipe, when the cement consumption per unit of kungfei soil mixture is less than 300kg/m3, the piping method and pumping process must be reasonably selected, it is advisable to use large diameter concrete conveying pipe and long conical pipe, and less elbow pipe and hose.When the conveying height exceeds the maximum conveying distance of concrete pump, relay pump (successor pump) can be used for pumping.In addition, according to the characteristics of engineering structure, construction technology, cloth requirements and piping conditions, the choice of cloth equipment. The distribution equipment shall be arranged according to the size of the structure plane, the piping condition and the length of the cloth rod, and it shall cover the entire structure plane, and the cloth shall be distributed evenly and quickly. The distributing equipment should be firmly and stably installed.

Mining concrete pump, as the name meaning, is the special concrete pump used for mining industry. Mining concrete pump is the kind of concrete pump to convey concrete to access some narrow space such as mines, culverts, tunnels, underground tunnels flexibly. The basic configuration of mining concrete pump is designed to adapt to various mines, small size, simple structure, easy operation. Last year, One client from Vietnam contacted us and said that they wanted to purchase four sets small mining concrete pumps. Their requirements were as following.

Four Rail wheels–it could be used on the track (they sent us the drawing for confirming the rail wheel gauge)

4. Requested the filling height 1.5m (1.1m before)
5. Requested delivery in 10 days
6. Requested 50mφ125 pipes for one set mining concrete pump

When our engineer designing the machine, they found that four steel tires were not feasible, because they could not turn the corner. We explained this to the client and suggested them to amend four steel tires to two steel tires. The client adopted our suggestion gladly. After receiving their agreement, we got the technical parameters and started the production.During the production, we always sent the photos to client to keep them noted the production progress .

Finally we finished the production and arranged delivery within 10 days required by the customer.

Till now, our Vietnam customer has used concrete pump machine for one year. For our last chat on skype, he said that they were very satisfied with our mining concrete pump machines as four sets mining concrete pump were always worked well even though in some very difficult projects. And they were looking forward to cooperate with us next time.
