1. Something wrong with material. It mainly includes 3 aspects such as  the segregation of concrete, the particle size of the aggregate is too large, and the remaining amount is not properly controlled.

• In the mixed concrete, the coarse and fine aggregates are not covered with cement slurry, and the cementation effect is insufficient, so the aggregates are more discrete, which may easily cause bleeding. 1. Carefully selected materials
The amount of cement slurry should be sufficient; the particle size of the aggregate should be strictly screened. The maximum particle size of pebble should be less than 1/3 of the diameter of the delivery pipe, the maximum particle size of crushed stone should be less than 1/4 of the diameter of the delivery pipe, and the sand content should be greater than 40% The amount should be sufficient and kept above the stirring shaft. 8 Steps to Maintain Stationary Concrete Transfer Pump

(1)Check the wear between the cutting ring and the eye plate, which is the key to determine the success of the direct water cleaning. If the cutting ring and eye plate wear was not serious, the distance between the cutting ring and eye plate is less than 0.1mm, and there was no groove scratch more than 1mm between them, direct water beating method can be used.

(2) After pumping concrete, the mortar with a water-cement ratio of 0.15 ~ 0.25m\+3 of 1:1.5 or 1:2 should be pumped. Then, fill the distribution valve with water and start pumping. The concrete pump should be sent to the pouring site until clean water comes out of the output end of the conveying pipe.If the pipe is short and clean well, the cleaning process is over.

(3) When the pipeline was long or the cleaning effect is not good, open the hopper unloading door, open the reverse pump, and flush the hopper and distribution valve. For example, if the pump was pumped upward and the height was >20m, a wooden hammer can be used to strike the bottom elbow of the vertical part. If the percussion sound was low, the elbow shall be disassembled to pour out the large aggregate that may accumulate.If the pipe was short and clean well, the cleaning process is over.

(4) close the discharge door and pump clean water until it comes out from the output end of the conveying pipe.

The advantage of direct pumping method is that it was not necessary to remove the outlet pipe and add cleaning ball, saving time, pumping more easily successful, especially convenient for cleaning shorter pipelines. Its disadvantages are: (1) large water consumption and pump water must be continuous, water is easy to row at the pouring site;(2) if there was a vertical upward pipe, usually must be removed bending pipe;(3) long pipeline pipeline is prone to residue; The distribution valve sealing requirements are strict.

(5) After pumping concrete reverse pump 1 ~ 2 cycles, eliminate the pressure in the pipe.If pumping upward, the globe valve must be closed first to prevent backflow of concrete, and then remove the discharge pipe.

(6) Open the hopper unloading door and flush the distribution valve, concrete cylinder and concrete in the hopper with the reverse pump.

(7) Take out some concrete at the mouth of the first 6B or 5B conveying pipe and insert it into a water-soaked cleaning ball or column to clean the piston.

(8) Close the discharge door of the distribution valve, open it if there was a globe valve, and pump clean water until the piston pumps out from the output end of the conveying pipe.The advantages of the discharge pipe method are that the pipe is cleaned cleanly, the flow rate of water can be lower and can be suspended.The disadvantage is that it is difficult and laborious to reconnect after the outlet is opened.

Use skills of stationary pump

1. Operators and relevant equipment management personnel shall carefully read the operating instructions and master the relevant knowledge of its structural principle, operation and maintenance as well as pumping concrete operations; The operation of concrete pump should be strictly in accordance with the operating instructions. Since there is required processes for the operator to fully master the mechanical properties, the instruction manual should be prepared at random. At the same time, it should be based on the use of the manual to develop special operating points, to be able to effectively control some variable factors in the pumping technology, such as pump position, pipeline layout.
2. The ground supporting the Stationary Pump should be flat and solid; The whole machine should be placed horizontally and should not be tilted in the working process. The supporting leg should be able to support the whole machine stably and lock or fix reliably. The pump location should not only be convenient for the concrete mixing truck to enter and exit and feed to the hopper, but also be conducive to the pumping distribution pipe and reduce the pumping pressure loss. At the same time, it should be close to the pouring site and convenient for power supply and water supply.
3.  Stationary Pump should be based on the characteristics of the construction site and concrete pouring scheme for piping, piping design to check whether the horizontal conversion distance of the pipeline and concrete pump pumping distance.Piping should be as short as possible, less elbow and hose. 4.  In the process of concrete pumping, with the increment of pump pressure, pumping impact will force pipe moves back and forth, it was not only the pumping pressure loss, and was the connection between pump pipe area was in a state of shock and discontinuous tension, which can lead to the pipe clamp and aprons premature damage, water mud overflow, so the pump must be fixed.
5.  After the connection of the Stationary Pump with the conveying pipe, the concrete pump shall be fully inspected in accordance with the operating instructions of the concrete pump, and the machine shall not be started for empty operation until it meets the requirements.After no-load operation for 10min, check again whether all institutions or systems work normally.
6.  During construction in hot season, it was advisable to cover the concrete conveying pipe with wet straw bag, wet cover cloth and other materials to avoid direct sunlight, so as to prevent the concrete from blocking the pipe due to the rapid loss of collapse.

   When vertical upward piping was required, with the increase of height, namely the increase of potential energy, there is trend of back flow of concrete. Therefore, horizontal pipes of a certain length should be laid between the concrete pump and the vertical piping to ensure sufficient resistance to prevent back flow of concrete. When pumping concrete in high-rise buildings, pipes shall be arranged vertically upward. At this time, the length of horizontal pipes on the ground shall not be less than 1/4 of the length of vertical pipes.If the required length of water pipe cannot be placed due to the limitation of the site, elbow pipe or hose can be used instead.
   7. How to use the Portable Concrete Trailer Pump

• The Portable Concrete Trailer Pump should be placed on a solid and flat ground, with the supporting legs down and the fuselage placed smoothly.
• It is should be checked before operation to ensure that the electrical equipment and instruments are normal, the switch buttons and handle of all parts are in the correct position, the fastening points of the mechanical part are firm and reliable, the tightness of the chain and belt meets the specified requirements, and the transmission part operates normally.
• The concrete conveying pipe joints shall be tightly sealed and the pipe clips shall be firmly connected. Vertical pipe should be no less than 10 meters in front of the horizontal pipe with a check valve, it was strictly prohibited to connect the vertical pipe directly to the concrete delivery pump outlet.
• When dredging the blocked pipe, people around should be evacuated. Before disassembling and cleaning the pipeline, backpumping method should be adopted to remove the pressure of the conveying pipeline. It is strictly forbidden to pipe mouth to person when disassembling.
• Please don not remove the hopper grid and other safety devices during operation. Did not climb or ride the conveying pipe,  not put your hand into the valve body to work,  not remove the pipe when pumping.
• When cleaning the pipe, the operator should leave the pipe outlet and bend joint.When cleaning the pipe with compressed air, no one and equipment shall be allowed within 10 meters of the pipe outlet.
• After the operation, unload the hydraulic system and return all the control switches to the original position.

Piping design of Portable Concrete Trailer Pump

The concrete delivery pipe of portable concrete trailer pump shall be arranged according to the characteristics of the project and construction site and the concrete pouring scheme. You should shorten the length of the pipeline, less elbow and hose. The laying of delivery pipe should ensure safe construction, facilitate cleaning pipe, troubleshooting and installation and disassembly maintenance.

Concrete delivery pipes of the same diameter shall be used in the same pipeline. When the new and 1-day sections are adopted at the same time, the new pipe should be arranged at a place with higher pumping pressure. The pipeline should be arranged horizontally and vertically. A schematic drawing of pipe layout shall be drawn, the specifications and quantities of various pipe fittings, pipe connecting rings and elbow pipes shall be listed, and a list of spare parts shall be proposed. The concrete delivery pipe should be selected according to the maximum particle size of coarse aggregate, the type of portable concrete trailer pump, the delivery distance of concrete output, and the degree of conveying difficulty. The delivery pipe shall have a strength suitable for pumping conditions. The pipe section without crack, bump and bend should be used. Pipe joints shall be tight, strong enough to be quickly assembled and dismantled. When the minimum pipe diameter of conveying pipe is l00mm, the maximum particle size of coarse aggregate cannot exceed 30mm, and when the minimum pipe diameter is 125mm, the maximum particle size cannot exceed 40mm. When piping vertically upward, the length of horizontal pipe on the ground shall not be less than 1/4 of the length of vertical pipe, and shall not be less than 15m, or comply with the provisions of the product specification. A globe valve shall be set at the root of the conveying pipe at the y-shaped pipe outlet 3 ~ 6m of the concrete pump to prevent the backflow of concrete mixture. When pumping underground structures, the horizontal pipe axis on the ground should be perpendicular to the y-shaped pipe outlet axis.When inclined downward piping, exhaust valve should be set at the upper end of inclined piping;When the height difference is greater than 20m, a horizontal pipe with 5 times the height difference length should be set at the lower end of the inclined pipe.If the condition is limited, the elbow pipe or ring pipe can be added to meet the requirement of 5 times the height difference length.The fixation of concrete conveying pipe shall not be directly supported on steel bars, formwork and embedded parts. Horizontal pipe shall be fixed with bracket, platform pad and sling at a certain distance, so as to eliminate pipe blockage, install, dismantle and clean the pipe. The vertical pipe should be fixed in the hole on the wall and the column or the roof of the floor with embedded parts.In the wall and column, each section of the pipe should not be less than 1 fixed point, in each floor slab holes should be fixed. A bend at the lower end of a vertical pipe should not be used as a support point for an upper pipe.Suitable for steel support to bear the weight of vertical pipe. When the vertical pipe is fixed on the scaffold, the scaffold can be strengthened as required.There shall be no leakage of slurry at the clamp of pipe joint.In hot season construction, it is advisable to cover the concrete conveying pipe with wet cloth and warm straw bag to avoid sunshine. Construction in cold season, it is advisable to use insulation materials to cover the kungfu soil conveying pipe, to prevent the concrete inside the pipe from freezing, and to ensure the temperature of concrete into the mold.When the horizontal conveying distance is more than 200m, the vertical conveying distance is more than 40m, the conveying pipe is vertically downward or the horizontal pipe is arranged in front of the inclined pipe, when the cement consumption per unit of kungfei soil mixture is less than 300kg/m3, the piping method and pumping process must be reasonably selected, it is advisable to use large diameter concrete conveying pipe and long conical pipe, and less elbow pipe and hose.When the conveying height exceeds the maximum conveying distance of concrete pump, relay pump (successor pump) can be used for pumping.In addition, according to the characteristics of engineering structure, construction technology, cloth requirements and piping conditions, the choice of cloth equipment. The distribution equipment shall be arranged according to the size of the structure plane, the piping condition and the length of the cloth rod, and it shall cover the entire structure plane, and the cloth shall be distributed evenly and quickly. The distributing equipment should be firmly and stably installed.

Last Monday, our customer from Maldives called me and he hoped to order the 30m3/h diesel engine trailer mixer pump we talked before. The quantity was two sets and let us deliver to the port of Male, Maldives. Also on Tuesday, the other customer from Nigeria sent me message via whatsapp, said that he would like to pay for two sets concrete pump with mixer machine to TICAN LAGOS PORT, Nigeria. So the problem came out, Why concrete pump with mixer is more popular for foreign clients?

It is different with Chinese market, as usual, for china buyer, they buy small concrete mixer machine, and use concrete pump machine together. Concrete mixer machine is used for mixing concrete material which including sand, cement and stone, concrete pump is used to delivery and pump concrete to the construction and building.

Common faults of concrete pumping machine generally include system fault and component fault. System fault is often caused by component failure which needs to be maintained under the instructions of professional personnel.

I  Common fault of main pumping system of concrete pumping machine

1. Master cylinder piston does not work

(1) The wiring of pumping start button SB4 is loose.

(2) Usually the fault of electro-hydraulic direction valve 9 is caused by pilot valve plug sticking or electromagnet valve YV3 and YV4 burnout.

(3) There is no sufficient hydraulic oil in oil tank.

(4) The filter element is blocked seriously.

2. The master cylinder fails to reverse direction

(1) The electro-hydraulic direction valve, one-way valve and sequence valve are stuck.

(2) The electro-hydraulic direction valve 10 or electromagnet valve YV3 or YV4 is burnt out.

3. The master cylinder piston moves slowly

(1) The one-way valve of master cylinder is broken.

(2) The filter element is blocked or there is no sufficient hydraulic oil.

(3) The orifice plug in oil control circuit is blocked.

(4) In the process of high-level pumping, the oil is not supplemented timely, the hydraulic oil in the enclosed cavity of master cylinder is not sufficient and the stroke distance is shortened.

4. The delivery pipe does not discharge concrete well: the concrete is discharged interruptedly or the discharge volume is small.

(1) The concrete piston is worn seriously.

(2) The clearance between the glass-like plate and the cutting ring is too large.

(3) The concrete quality is too poor which causes the poor absorption performances.

(4) The S-pipe is blocked. The distributing valve does not swing in position.

The nylon bearing pedestal of swing cylinder is worn, deformed or uneven in thickness. Add adjusting shim under the nylon bearing pedestal of swing cylinder or replace it.

The swing arm end of distributing valve has mortar leakage.

The waterproof dust ring at the small S-pipe end is deformed, the bearing is worn seriously or the clearance is too large. Check and replace them if necessary.

II  Common fault of lubricating system of concrete pumping machine

1. The progressive oil distributor valve plug is stuck. Clean up the progressive oil distributing circuit regularly.
2. The one-way valve at the lubricating pump exit does not work. Check and replace it if necessary.
3. The overflow valve in lubricating system does not work. The inspector shall check it and replace it if necessary.
4. The lubricating oil quality does not meet the requirement; the oil has too high viscosity to pass the filter screen.
5. A lubricating oil circuit is blocked. Usually the blocked one is the lubricating point on the big-end bearing of distributing valve.

III. Common faults of mixing system of concrete pumping machine

1. If the concrete pumping performance is too bad, the mixing resistance is too large or the mixing blades are stuck, the operating personnel shall make it rotate reversely.
2. The setting pressure of mixing overflow valve is not sufficient. Stuck the mixing blades with wood and adjust the pressure to 12MPa.
3. The hydraulic motor is broken. Check it and replace it if necessary.
4. The gear pump of mixing system is damaged. Check it and replace it.
5. The operating rod of hand-operated directional valve is broken or does not work which causes the directional valve plug cannot move to the required position.
6. The mixing shaft or shaft sleeve is broken. The operating personnel shall clean it up for overhaul.
   

   IV Common fault of pump starting of concrete pumping machine

   After starting the main motor, the main motor does not work and make the buzz sound. Usually it means the power source has phase loss.

   VI Main electrical and voltage component fault of concrete pumping machine

   1.Terminal relay

The faults usually include coil burning or contact burning which cause that the contact cannot connect or disconnect normally.

2. Electromagnet

There are totally two electromagnets in this pump. The two electromagnets YV1 and YV2 on the electro-hydraulic directional valve 10 control the positive and reverse pumping of this pump.

The fault determination method is listed below:

Switch on the control power and take off the rubber sleeve on the electromagnet end. Push the electromagnet core inside with hand and screw the corresponding operating button, it means the electromagnet on the opposite side of this electromagnet is burnt out. After screwing the inching button, the corresponding electromagnet shall make a sound.

To insure the concrete pump operating normally and the construction is not delayed, it requires that operators should carry out inspection and maintenance regularly before construction and during construction. How to maintain concrete pump is very important and  we will discuss in detail as followed.

  Daily maintenance

1) Check hydraulic oil level. Oil should be light yellow and transparent without emulsification or turbidity. Otherwise, it should be changed.

2) Fill grease fully and fill water tank with clean water fully.

3) Check if piston of concrete is sealed properly and no mortar is infiltrated into water tank.

4) Check if the clearance between cutting ring and anti-wearing plate should be normal (the maximum clearance should be 2mm).

5) Check working condition of lubrication system and confirm if there is lubricating oil overflowed from lubrication points like bearing position at swing arm end of S pipe and bearing position of mixing shaft. Manual lubrication points should be filled with grease each machine shift.

6) Check if functions of all electrical elements are normal.

7) Check if swing of distributing valve and forward & reversal turning of mixing device are normal.

8) Check outside of cooler. If there is dirt, clean it at once. Otherwise, it is easy to cause oil temperature is overheating.

9) Check reading of vacuum meter. It should be within green zone (it prohibits that vacuum degree is over 0.04). As usual, oil suction vacuum degree should be less than 0.02Mpa and reading of oil return pressure vacuum meter should be less than 0.35Mpa.

10) Check abrasion of concrete pipeline by knocking and check if joints of all pipelines are sealed properly.

11) Check if there is oil leakage or oil impregnate for hydraulic system.

How to maintain concrete pump after 50 operation hours (1500~2500m³)

1) Carry out above maintenance.

2) Check connection of all threads to assure that connection is firm.

3) Check coupling bolt on intermediate spliced pole in water tank to assure that connection is firm.

4) Check reading of vacuum meter and filtering condition of filter core.

How to maintain concrete pump after 100 operation hours (3500~5000m³)

1) Carry out above maintenance.

2) Check abrasion of anti-wearing plate and cutting ring. If necessary, replace cutting ring.

3) Check abrasion of concrete piston. If necessary, replace it.

4) Check if hydraulic oil is degenerated or emulsified. Otherwise, change hydraulic oil completely and clean oil tank fully.

5) Check if excessive water is mixed into hydraulic oil. Every other 20 days, funnel shaped bottom screw plug at the bottom of oil tank are screwed off to drain water. After draining about 2~3 L, screw plug should be tightened.

6) Diesel engine oil need be changed once every other 250 operation hours. When ambient temperature is below -10°C or sulfur content in engine oil is 0.5%~1%, engine oil is changed once every other 125 hours.

 How to maintain concrete pump after 500 operation hours (15000~25000m³)

1) Carry out above maintenance.

2) Check abrasion of S pipe and bearing position of S pipe.

3) Check abrasion of mixing device, mixing blades and mixing bearing.

4) Check hydraulic oil. If necessary, change new hydraulic oil that must use the brand recommended by our company. As usual, after pumping 10000m³ concrete, it should change hydraulic oil once completely.

5) Check if air pressure of accumulator is sufficient. Pressure of accumulator is 10~11Mpa.

How to maintain concrete pump after 750 operation hours

1) Carry out above maintenance.

2) Check abrasion of concrete cylinder. If chromium coating is worn excessively, it should be replaced.

3) Pump is adjusted completely and all performance parameters should conform to requirements.
